The story of a name
Kikao is a name of Swahili origin (language spoken in East Africa) which means “session”. We chose it to embody our brand for its exotic, evocative sound. In this regard, we also thought of “hakuna matata”. An already well-known expression, which means “no worries” and which underlines the festive aspect that our perfumes offer.
But, with Kikao, we are also on the notion of time, that of the duration of the day of swimming.
And as Kikao phonetically recalls water, in other words the environment of our products, this name stood out as obvious.
The story of an idea
Perfuming the water, making a swim a unique and personal moment, such is our ambition. Kikao is the first brand of cosmetic approved perfumes for water in swimming pools, spas, saunas, hammams and diffusers.
The innovation represented by Kikao will transform this moment of relaxation into a new olfactory experience and thus increase the pleasure in the water, or around the pool.
Indeed, smells and therefore perfumes are a strong stimulus for pleasure. They are written in us. They determine a sensation of sweetness or, conversely, bitterness; pleasure or aversion. Through olfactory memory, a perfume can therefore become an essential factor in an experience of relaxation and well-being.
It is with this observation that we wanted to create a fragrance for relaxation water, and thus make the swimming pool, spa, sauna or hammam a corner of paradise of your own. Thus the idea of Kikao was born.
